Martin Luther King Jr. Day events were held throughout the IU system last week, and many were town and gown collaborations. The Faith Baptist Choir (right) was one of the participating groups at South Bend's celebration, sponsored by the IU South Bend Black Council. Pete Hicks of the Black Student Union on the IU Bloomington campus (upper photo) was a presenter at a multicultural "Read Out" at the Monroe County Library. Children's books that foster sensitivity to all peoples and ways of life were read and discussed.
