February marks the eleventh year for celebration of Asian American Heritage Month on the IU Bloomington campus, a departure from the national celebration month in May. The strategy is simple: more participants are available during the early spring semester.
Eleven Asian organizations have been planning the month-long celebration. Last year's "Taste" brought a crowd of 850 participants, and student organizers are ready to host up to 1,000 this year.
Faculty, staff and students, as well as community residents, may attend the free "Taste." The night begins with various Asian student organizations presenting dances, folktale, dramas and foods from throughout Asia.
