Jack the Rapper Gibson, a pioneer of black radio whose experience dates back a half century with the nation's first black-owned radio station, Atlanta's WERD, will lecture on the Bloomington campus Feb. 24 at 7:30 p.m., Jordan Hall A100. A reception will follow in the atrium. IU's Archives of African American Music and Culture houses the Gibson Collection, including an archive of Mello Yello magazines, air-check tapes, audio and video interviews and documentaries, and photographs of radio personalities and rhythm and blues artists.
