Indiana University Southeast will present its prestigious 1999 Chancellor's Medallion to Lee Hamilton, former congressman from Indiana's 9th District, at a dinner Friday (Feb. 26) at Huber Orchard and Winery's Plantation Hall in Starlite. Hamilton is being honored for his distinguished service to the university and to the community. The event is sponsored by the IUS campus' Board of Advisors and benefits the university's scholarship fund.

IUPUI will be honoring three current and former campus leaders for their service to the university during the 26th annual IUPUI Alumni Leadership Dinner Thursday (Feb. 25) at the Westin Hotel in Indianapolis. James East of the IU School of Liberal Arts, Jean Hutten of the IU School of Nursing and William Kulsrud of the IU Kelley School of Business will receive the Maynard K. Hine Medal.

The award is presented in honor of the late Hine, the first chancellor of IUPUI. Stefan Davis, director of the IUPUI Office of Alumni Relations, called the award "the highest honor presented by the association in recognition of outstanding volunteer service in support of the IUPUI campus."
