Full-time students on all the Indiana University campuses are eligible to apply to become a Trustee of Indiana University.
A student trustee serves a two-year term, beginning July 1, and must continue as a full-time student for the duration of the appointment.
Application materials are available at the trustees' office at the Indiana Memorial Union in Bloomington and at the chancellor's and student government offices on all IU campuses.
Application deadline is March 3. Applications will be reviewed by a search and screen committee composed of student representatives from all IU campuses. Finalists will be interviewed April 15-16 in Indianapolis. Ten names will be forwarded to Gov. Frank O'Bannon who will make the final selection.
IU has had a student trustee since the Indiana General Assembly increased the board from eight to nine members 23 years ago and provided that the governor appoint a full-time student.
Rose Gallagher, a third-year law student, is the current student trustee.
