The photo is of Sylvia Bowman, a professor of English at IPFW who was appointed IU's first woman chancellor in 1971 and for which an IU Founders Day award is named. The group photo at this week's Web site is of the women of Kappa Alpha Theta in 1900; Thetas were established on the Bloomington campus in 1870, IU's very first sorority.
