Russell Skiba, director of the IU Institute for Child Study and an IUB education professor, was a member of the expert panel that helped draft the White House response to school violence, "Early Warning, Timely Response: A Guide to Safe Schools."
The August 1999 Kalachakra Initiation, for which the Dalai Lama of Tibet will be in Bloomington (see "Dalai Lama, others to meet for August peace-building conference," this issue), will mark the 24th time the tantric teaching has been offered during four decades of rule by the 14th Dalai Lama, and only the fourth time in this country.
