- Two U.S. vice presidents have connections to the IU School of Law-Indianapolis. Dan Quayle (Class of 1974) served as vice president during the administration of George Bush (1988-92), and former faculty member Charles Fairbanks was Teddy Roosevelt's vice president (1904-1908).
- Teddy Roosevelt had ties to IU all his own. He gave his collection of stuffed birds to IU at the turn of the century and gave the commencement address, titled "Straightout Americanism," in 1918 at IUB.
