Branch out in your very own "backyard." The Special Interest Group on University and College Computing Services (SIGUCCS) is holding its annual user services conference Oct. 25-28 at IUB. An affiliate of the Association for Computer Machinery (ACM), the oldest and largest educational and scientific computing society (established in 1947), SIGUCCS has been rotating its conference site among major cities in the Midwest and the East and West coasts for the past quarter century. It is unusual for the gathering to land on a college campus, according to this year's conference chair, IU's Bonnie Hites at University Information Technology Services. ACM serves a membership of more than 80,000 computing professionals in more than 100 countries in all areas of industry, academia and government.
