Technology conference to feature UK's Open University administrator

Sir John S. Daniel, vice chancellor of the United Kingdom's Open University, will deliver the keynote address at a conference for faculty Nov. 10 at IUPUI. The conference topic is "Teaching and Learning with Technology."

The address will be in the ballroom of University Place Conference Center, beginning at 8:30 a.m.

No registration is required to attend his address, "Distance Learning and Academic Values," but faculty must register to attend conference sessions which are scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2:20 p.m. at University Library on the Indianapolis campus.

Registrants will participate in a discussion with Sir John, hear a panel discussion and participate in a poster session (See this week's Browser column for proposal deadline).

The Open University is Britain's largest single teaching institution, with more than 200,000 enrolled. The curriculum is designed for students learning from their homes and work places.

William Graves, president of eduprise.com, will deliver an afternoon address entitled "Instruction on the Web: Institutional Progress or Random Acts of Progress?"
