The "Universities as Citizens" Colloquium Series, sponsored by the Midwest Collaboration of Campus Compact, will feature Harry Boyte, co-director of the University of Minnesota's Center for Democracy and Citizenship, Nov. 1, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., on the Marian College, Indianapolis, campus. A Back Home Again community concert will be staged Sunday (Oct. 17) at the IU Auditorium in Blooming-ton at 3 p.m. The free event will feature the voices of 187 area schoolchildren, high school choirs, the IU Singing Hoosiers and the African American Choral Ensemble.
The 50th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China earlier this month inspired a faculty roundtable discussion at the IUB East Asian Studies Center.
