The IU Opera Theater production of Alban Berg's Wozzeck opens tonight (Oct. 22) and continues with performances Oct. 23, 29 and 30 at 8 p.m. in Blooming-ton's Musical Arts Center. Franz Grundheber, the renowned opera singer who performed the role of Wozzeck last season at the Metropolitan Opera and will perform the role in this production, makes his first-ever direction effort.
The production's opening coincides with that of the IU Theatre T300 production of Georg Büchner's Woyzeck, on which the opera is based.
