The Committee on Multicultural Understanding (COMU) at IUB traces its roots to 1982, when the dean of students formed the Committee on Racial Understanding. The present name came in 1990 to reflect the group's work on broader issues related to mutual respect and sensitivity among people from different racial groups and cultural backgrounds. Whitewater Community Television, WCTV-Richmond, is located in Middlefork Hall at IU East. The station added a third channel of public access programming earlier this month. This is the 10th year the channel has been operating.
