A series of visual artworks--tapestry, stained glass and large-scale tableaux combining painting and photography--will take viewers on a journey back to the Holocaust as part of the Spirit & Place experience.
Artist Judy Chicago will present The Holocaust Project at 7 p.m., Monday, Nov. 15, at Congregation Beth-El Zedeck, 600 W. 70th St., Indianapolis. The event is free and open to the public.
Chicago, who collaborated on the project with her husband, photographer and artist Donald Woodman, will help viewers understand how the Holocaust grew out of concepts of power and dominance and how those same concepts present today. Chicago is currently teaching at Indiana University.
