- The IUPUI School of Science Graduate Student Council is holding its second annual Research Symposium Friday, Nov. 6, in the Lilly Auditorium at the University Library. The day is geared toward the general public, and event organizers say it will shun the jargon associated with typical research seminars. Students from central Indiana high schools have been invited to attend in order to spark interest in and awareness of science education. Presentations and posters will include examinations of current topics in biology, chemistry, geology and psychology. For more info, contact Sheryl Hempkins at 317-274-9828.
- Postmark for proposals for funds worth up to $50,000 for research relating to issues facing philanthropy and nonprofit organizations is Nov. 13 through the IU Center on Philanthropy. E-mail Kathryn Keirouz at kkeirouz@iupui.edu for info.
