• Happy anniversary to the community of IU Southeast, celebrating its 25th year of service to the city of New Albany, and to the IUPUI School of Liberal Arts, commemorating its 30th year.

• Indiana's health-care industry provides jobs to one out of every nine Hoosiers, with an $8 billion annual payroll. The National Institutes of Health provided IUPUI with $58.9 million in research funds, primarily to the IU School of Medicine, and also to the IU schools of Nursing and Dentistry, and the Purdue School of Science last year. IU President Myles Brand has created a partnership with the Indiana Health Industry Forum, which is leading a medical research initiative to seek state support in leveraging additional NIH funding.
