The IU Kokomo Child Care Center has received a CAMPUS (Child Care Access Means Parents in School Program) grant from the U.S. Department of Education to help defray child-care expenses for low-income parents, many of whom are single parents juggling parenthood, school and work all at once. The DOE estimates there are approximately 2,500 campus-based children's centers across the country, which serve only 10 to 25 percent of students who need child care.
Indiana's first cookbook, Mrs. Collins' Table Receipts Adapted to Western Housewifery, was published in 1851 by J.N.O. Nunemacher of New Albany. It is one of several historic cookbooks housed at the Lilly Library on the IUB campus.
