An emphasis on the Egyptian civilization's Africanism is evident in an exhibit running through Feb. 22 at the IU Kokomo Art Gallery in
conjunction with IUK's celebration of Black History Month. Five sub
Saharan African artifacts, including a Bundu mask from a secret women's
society of the Sande (pictured at right) are the accent pieces for walls of
photographic murals of the landscape and culture of Egypt.
Works from the Egyptian collection of the
IUB Art Museum and aerial photographs of antiquities are on display at the
Special Exhibitions Gallery through February:
