1996-1997 was a banner year for graduate and undergraduate admissions from the international applicant pool at IU Bloomington. The "top ten" countries, by number of applications received, were: People's Republic of China, South Korea, Taiwan, India, Japan, Thailand, Canada, Russia, Hong Kong and Malaysia.
Three IU East cooperative programs are listed in the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's second volume of University-Community Partnerships: Current Practices. The Whitewater Regional Economic Council, the Access to Higher Education Program and the Educational Awareness Projects are reviewed.
