Financial Aid

The Costs of a College Education Pay Off

Many students express concern about the costs incurred in financing their college education. As a full-time undergraduate student and Indiana resident at IUN, a typical school year will cost you approximately $3,000 or $12,000 for a four year degree. Another way of looking at it is that the cost of this education for four years is about half the cost of many new cars. Which is going to take you farther? The IU education is a tremendous bargain. It also pays off in the long run with increased earning potential. The annual earnings of those workers with a bachelor's degree are more than twice that of the high school drop out.

Payment Plan Program

This semester, students were able to choose to finance the cost of classes through a new interest-free monthly payment option. The Tuition Management System, an educational payment services company, offers this program that allows students to pay for college expenses in predetermined monthly installments. This option gives families more flexibility. IUN distributed more than $8 million in federal, state, University and private aid in 1996. Last year more than $350,000 was awarded to students through our scholarship programs. There are over 50 scholarship opportunities at IUN.

IUN's Financial Aid Office provides students with individual attention and he assistance needed to apply for financial aid.
