IU Kokomo's senior business students scored in the 97th percentile overall in the Educational Testing Service (ETS) Major Field Test, administered last semester to senior business majors at 318 U.S. colleges and universities. The business program at Kokomo is currently a candidate for accreditation with the Amer-ican Association of Collegiate Schools of Business, a distinction held only by about one-third of business schools in the country.

The IU Medical Center performed the first kidney transplant in Indiana in 1965. The center has since performed the state's first liver, pancreas, infant heart and bone marrow transplants. As the largest transplant center in the state, more than 300 such procedures are performed annually.
