(In upper photo) Dr. Robert Holden (left), dean of the IU School of Medicine,
presented a certificate of appreciation to Bloomington's Dr. Anthony Pizzo
recently for his years of volunteer faculty service to the IUB Medical
Sciences Program.
Honored at the same event (lower photo) was Dr. Jean
Creek of Bloomington (center), who received the Benton Medallion from IU
President Myles Brand (left) for his contributions to the program. Creek
was instrumental in facilitating Bloomington Hospital as a teaching
facility. The Bloomington program, headquartered in a newly renovated
space at IUB's Jordan Hall since December, is one of IU's eight regional
medical education programs for undergraduates and first- and second-year
medical students. At right is Kenneth Gros Louis, chancellor of the
Bloomington campus.
