By Jayne Spencer Trix is for kids, goes the slogan for the great American breakfast cereal. But education -- once the purview of youth -- has become a moveable feast. Education is not just for kids, and often takes place outside the traditional classroom setting, sometimes in a meadow, sometimes at a computer screen next to the laundry room, and yes, sometimes in our very own office setting. Whether young or old, searching for truth, wisdom, job skills, an avocation, a recreation or a combination of all five, IU staff and faculty have access to all kinds of learning opportunities. This week Links Unplugged takes you to Cool School. We've compiled a "bulletin" of classes that are, well, a little bit different than your basic reading, writing and 'rithmetic. Some classes are credit-granting, some lead to a degree, others are purely life-enhancing. All are "way cool." Take a look. |
