Barbara M. Barrow Jacobs, a member of the board of directors of the Indiana University Foundation, is pictured at last week's dedication of the David H. Jacobs West Terrace and Plaza of the Bess Meshulam Simon Music Library and Recital Center at IUB. Named in memory of Jacobs' late husband, the plaza features a brick walkway, a limestone seat wall and wrought iron fencing that features musical symbols representing the conductor and the four major families of the orchestra: brass, winds, strings and percussion. Hoagy Carmichael's Chimes of Indiana is notated on a music staff in the brickwork.
