Dieter Lamping, professor of German and comparative literature at the
Johannes Gutenberg Universitat in Mainz, Germany, will discuss the
representation of Jews in post-war German literature at a lecture
Tuesday (Sept. 16), at 8 p.m. in State Room East of the Indiana Memorial
Union on the Bloomington campus. Presented under the auspices of the
1997 Dorit and Gerald Paul Program for the Study of Germans and Jews,
the lecture will be followed by a reception in State Room West.
Three-time Pulitzer Prize nominee Molly Ivins is the first distinguished
speaker scheduled for the Omnibus Lecture Series at the IPFW campus. The
Fort Worth (Tex.) Star-Telegram syndicated columnist will speak at 7:30
p.m. at the Walb Student Union ballroom Wednesday (Sept. 17). She has
been a commentator on CBS' 60 Minutes. The appearance is free and open
to the public.
