The Air Force Reserve Officer's Training Corps (AFROTC) unit on the IUB campus celebrated the 50th anniversary of the U.S. Air Force with a ceremony last Thursday (Sept. 18). IU first offered military instruction in 1840, almost 80 years before ROTC was established by the National Defense Act of 1916 and 1918.

Roger Jarjoura, SPEA, is the founder of AIM (Aftercare by IUPUI through Mentoring), a two-year-old program that matches university students with juvenile offenders being released from the Plainfield Juvenile Correctional Facility. The students assist the released young people in making the transition from jail to society.
