Cam Cameron, head football coach at IUB, will be the grand marshal of the 39th annual homecoming parade in Bloomington next Friday (Oct. 3), and the IU Alumni Association has issued an invitation to groups and departments on campus that would like to participate in the parade. According to Kim Quillen of the association, there are more than 100 entries already signed up, ranging from marching bands to floats to the IU football team.
The parade begins at 5:30 p.m. near the IU School of Education on Rose Avenue and will travel west on Third Street, concluding at the Sample Gates on Indiana Avenue. A pep rally on the steps of the Student Building is scheduled at 6:30 p.m.
Staff and faculty are also encouraged to attend the 10th annual homecoming brunch at the Mellencamp Pavilion Saturday, Oct. 4, at 9:30 a.m. The Singing Hoosiers will be on hand, and tickets are available by reservation ($10 adult: $6 children 12 and under). To order tickets, call the Alumni Association at the number above. The association is trying to get an accurate head count, so make your call by Tuesday (Sept. 30).
