Fast facts...

• IUPUI alumnus/astronaut David A. Wolf, who holds a medical degree from IU and an electrical engineering degree from Purdue, left for the space station Mir last Friday (Sept. 26).

• Kenny Aronoff, an IUB music professor and IU alumnus, was the first of 50 drummers to audition for John Mellencamp's band in 1980. He got the job. Last year, the noted rock 'n roll drummer toured with Melissa Etheridge and Bob Seeger.

• Larry Mackey received his law degree at IUB and is lead prosecutor in the case against Terry Nichols, co-defendant in the bombimg of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building, Oklahoma City. Mackey graduated in 1976. The trial began Monday (Sept. 29) in Denver.
