William Rehnquist marked his 10th anniversary as the 16th Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court when the court reconvened Monday (Oct. 7). In two weeks, he'll be in Bloomington for a different kind of judicial task.
He is scheduled to visit the Indiana University School of Law-Bloomington Oct. 25-29 and to participate in two major events there.
On Sunday, Oct. 27, at 5 p.m. in the Moot Court Room, he will preside over a mock trial involving a well-known Shakespearian scenario -- namely, whether Richard III murdered the Princess in the Tower. The mock trial will be open to students and the public.
The next day, at noon in the Moot Court Room, Rehnquist will present a lecture on the famous 19th-century "Treason Trials" in Indianapolis. Seating for the Oct. 28 lecture will be limited.
