BLOOMINGTON -- You've read the special supplement. Here comes the video.
A video designed to explain IU's classification program in a simple and concise manner has been produced by Indiana University Human Resources. It answers questions about why IU Bloomington and IU Southeast revamped the program, how they went about doing so and how the changes affect most people.
It is hoped that the video will help prepare IU Bloomington staff members to understand the results of the new program, including changes in job titles, job grades and salary structures. Employees at IU Southeast already have been informed of the changes.
Personnel representatives in departments attend a meeting at Human Resources on Oct. 14 where they will view the 17-minute video titled, "The Classification and Compensation Program: Turning Point."
Afterwards, they will receive a copy to take back to their departments to show to all clerical and technical employees and managers and supervisors. Personnel representatives will schedule meetings soon to show their departments this video.
If your department did not receive a video, you may request a copy to view from Human Resources or check one out from the IU Main Library.
Human Resources will use other media, including this special supplement, to educate employees about the changes.
Other information regarding final position slotting and pay ranges will be posted on the World Wide Web. Newsletters were published throughout the process to keep employees informed and they will be continued.
