Observed from 1,200 feet above, the Indiana landscape shows the beauty of the state's forests, lakes, rivers and geological formations, but also the impact of humans in the patterns of fields, roads, cities and factories. An innovative collaboration between the Indiana Department of Natural Resources and the IU Press has produced "Indiana from the Air," a book published earlier this month. The 96 full-color photos present a pictorial essay of the state, as captured by Indiana DNR chief photographer Richard Fields, working with a NR biologist and cartographer.
