caricature Peg Cagle is a middle school teacher in Los Angeles, Calif. Along with husband Daryl Cagle, a syndicated cartoonist and first vice president of the National Cartoonists Society, she has developed a Web site using newspaper editorial cartoons as a teaching tool in social sciences, art, journalism and English, from elementary through high school levels. The site includes current work from 24 of the best editorial cartoonists in the world, such as Pulitzer Prize winners Jeff MacNelly, Mike Luckovich, Signe Wilkinson and Mike Peters. Whether you're a classroom teacher, a student of current events or the parent of a school-age child, this site provides study opportunities in politics and government utilizing symbolism, satire, metaphor and irony. Home Pages is also using this site as a catalyst for creative cartooning among our readers: Our Home Toons contest deadline is Dec. 15.
