What's cool -- pick of the week

Home Pages takes you today to the South Bend Tribune's online edition of "A Conversation on Race," an ambitious undertaking of the editorial staff in covering Cornel West's visit to IU South Bend Nov. 14 and the seminars his visit inspired (see story this issue).

Categories of coverage include: affirmative action; education; identity; government/news media; religion; family/society; multiculturalism; and workplace. It's a masterful offering and you can go to such diverse topics as "Race and psychotherapy" to "Views of the Million Women March."

Charlotte Pfeifer, director of the Office of Campus Diversity at IU South Bend, is quoted in the cover page: "We analyze racial issues. We write books about race. We make movies and lecture on race. But we don't sit down and talk about it, not in 'mixed' company."

Check it out.
