A noted theologian and author who served as a mentor to Martin Luther King Jr. will be the keynote speaker for the 27th annual IUPUI King dinner, sponsored by the Black Student Union.

Samuel D. Proctor, a professor at Duke University Divinity School and author of The Substance of Things Hoped For, will speak Jan. 20 at The West End. Organizers expect the event to sell out and no tickets will be sold at the door. For information, call 317-274-5199.

At IPFW, the 10th annual Martin Luther King Jr. celebration will include the performance of winning poems, songs and essays about diversity, unity, love, acceptance and community at the IPFW Williams Theatre at noon Jan. 15.
