![]() | Sara Via, a professor of biology
and entomology at the University of Maryland, has been tapped to present
the annual Joan Wood Lecture, March 8 at 4 p.m. in Jordan Hall A100, IU
Bloomington.
Her topic will be "How Does It Work: What Do Ant Brains and Evolutionary Biology Have In Common?" The lecture series is named in memory of a Bloomington physician who maintained a private practice as a consultant in prenatal diagnosis of genetic disorders. As a strong advocate of women in the sciences, Wood remained active in educational programs with the IUB Department of Biology until her death in 1990. The lectures provide a forum for undergraduates to interact with female professionals in science-related careers. |
