Cultural studies scholar Jay Mechling of the University of California, Davis, will present the IUB Department of Communication and Culture’s annual J. Jeffrey Auer Lecture Friday, March 3, at 2 p.m. at the School of Fine Arts, Room 102, IUB. His topic will be "American Common Sense as a Cultural System." Mechling has published a number of essays of rhetorical criticism with Elizabeth Mechling, including "The Atom According to Disney" and "The Campaign for Civil Defense and the Struggle to Naturalize the Bomb."
