State’s top health official at IUB Feb 28

Dr. Richard Feldman, state health commissioner, will discuss "Public Health Priorities in Indiana" at a talk at IU Bloomington Monday, Feb. 28.

He will speak at 1:30 p.m. in Whittenberger Auditorium at the Indiana Memorial Union. The program will be open to the public without charge and sponsored by the IUB Department of Applied Health Science.

A graduate of the IU School of Medicine, Feldman has been a family practitioner and is on the faculty at the IU School of Medicine. Seven priorities he is directing for the State Department of Health are infant mortality; adolescent pregnancy and pregnancy prevention; tobacco-related illness; underserved populations; injury; operational efficiencies; and core public-health functions.
