An evening remembrance of Herman B Wells April 5 at the IU Auditorium in Bloomington brought together several generations of the late university chancellor's "fan club" to pay tribute. Among them were (left to right) John Fernandez, mayor of Bloomington; IU presidents emeriti John Ryan and Tom Ehrlich; IU President Myles Brand; Henry H.H. Remak, IU professor emeritus (at the podium); and Vi Taliaferro, presiding judge of the Monroe County Unified Courts. Brand announced future plans to name the Main Library on the Bloomington campus in memory of Wells.
