A TIAA-CREF Community Seminar is planned for Tuesday (April 25) from noon to 8:15 p.m. at the Bloomington Convention Center.
TIAA-CREF personnel will be providing information sessions to the general public covering such topics as: general investment choices, women's financial obstacles, income options during retirement and estate planning.
Daniel Rives, director of benefit programs at Indiana University (see today's
Viewpoint column, this page), reminds employees of the university's Tax Deferred
Annuity Plan as another opportunity to accumulate savings for retirement years.
Like a 401(k) plan, employee contributions and earnings are not subject to
federal or state income taxes until funds are withdrawn from the participant's
account. Plan participants have a wide array of investment options, from bonds
to domestic and international stocks. Additional information about the plan may
